Meet Brenda Helton. She says, “I’ve been blessed to call White County home all my life. My family is my heart, and I’m
proud to see the next generations growing up with the same appreciation for hard work,
community, and integrity that shaped me. We value time together, good food, and everyday
joy.”

Q: What do you do for a living and what do you like most about it?

I own an accounting & tax service, and what I love most is the opportunity to serve people while building something that reflects both professionalism and personal care. Each day brings a new challenge and a chance to make a positive impact — whether through customer relationships, mentorship, or community involvement.

Q: What advice would you want to give or leave with people? Or , If you could go back in time to give yourself some wisdom, what would you say?

Don’t wait for the perfect moment — it rarely comes. Take the leap, work hard, and trust yourself. And when things get tough, remember that perseverance and grace will carry you further than perfection ever could.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

Greece. The blend of beauty, history, and food speaks to my heart. I’d love to slow down, enjoy authentic meals, and soak up the art and architecture that have inspired people for centuries.

Q: What is the most beautiful place in the world you have already visited?

The North Georgia mountains — right here at home. No matter how far I travel, the peace and beauty of this area always feel unmatched.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?

I’d love to have lunch with Dolly Parton. She embodies kindness, humility, and strength — all while running an empire with heart. We’d probably meet at Tipsy Tomato for good food and conversation that I know would leave me inspired.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

I love The Tipsy Tomato, Bangkok Haus and Campfire Gather Round — great food, welcoming atmosphere, and people who genuinely care about their guests.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?

I’ve worked and been active in the community all my life, both professionally and through local partnerships. It’s been amazing to see White County grow while still keeping that close-knit charm.

Q: Who, in our community, do you think is happy and positive and would be a great next interview for this project? This person will be your nomination!

I’d nominate Carol Campbell Jackson. She always bring positive energy and a genuine spirit of encouragement wherever they go.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?

The people. There’s a generosity of spirit here — neighbors help neighbors, businesses support one another, and community truly means something.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?

I’m a fan of The Holiday — it’s heartwarming, timeless, and always reminds me to appreciate life’s little surprises.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?

I have a quite creative side — I love design and envisioning what’s possible, whether that’s in a home, a business idea, or a community project.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?

Good customer service, a well-prepared meal, and genuine kindness — those never go out of style.

Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?

Classic soul and soft country — music with meaning and emotion.

Q: If you were given ONE EXTRA HOUR every day, and you could not use it for sleep, work, or with anyone else, what would you use it for?

I’d spend it reading, reflecting, or just enjoying quiet time outdoors to reset and refocus.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?

A long trip through Europe — slow travel, exploring the culture, food, and history at my own pace.

Q: Favorite month? Favorite holiday? And the absolute best single day on the calendar?

October is my favorite month — the colors, the crisp air, and the feeling of renewal. My favorite holiday is Christmas. I love the lights, and the magic of this holiday. And the best day? Any day that starts with peace and ends with laughter.
